Our Point of View

No other Reno area golf course offers such a challenge, with rewarding beauty and serenity no matter how you score.  You’ll get lost in the views of the surrounding mountain tops and eastward across the Washoe Valley.  Meandering streams and elevation changes make for some nervous shot-making, but forced carries are few from forward tee boxes if distance is not a strength of your game.  There is always a ready beverage cart and a full-service bar and restaurant to help elevate your joy as well.

No on course marshal, play way too slow, most tee blocks un-usable, course way too wet to the point your ball imbeds... and your feet sink. It used to be my favorite course in Reno but I won't play it anymore.read more

I had not played the course for a few years, but thought I would take my son who is just learning to play golf. He has... heard me talk about the course as being one of my favorites and really wanted to play it. Well, it is no longer one of my favorites and he was not impressed either. The course itself is in very bad shape. A lot of area is under repair and the greens are very chewed up. There was 2 to 3 parties waiting to tee off on each tee box and no marshal insight to get people moving. And the fees are high, which I am not opposed to paying if the course is in good shape. Being that I am a local, I asked about junior rates when we checked in for my 14 year old son and about had my head bit off. As a local who lives here in Reno, the majority of courses, including Duncan ran courses, will give junior rates any time of day because they want the kids to learn to play and enjoy golf. If you are wanting to play a crowded course, that is poorly maintained, and only cares about making money, this is the course for you. If you want a great golf experience, with people running the course who are professionals, I would suggest driving the extra hour and playing someplace like Plumas Pines, Grizzly Ranch or Whitehawk. I have played all 3 of these courses in the last 2 weeks and they put Wolf Run to shame. I will not be retuning here anytime soon. Don’t waste your time or money!read more

Wolf Run did not disclose there was three tournaments playing on a Sunday, at the time of booking a tee time. Took... three hours to play 6 holes. Even with the waits the course could not be completed before closing time. The tee time was booked Tuesday with no notice of the tournaments. Within three holes 17 people were waiting . Unreal.read more
