The Standard 3-Night Graeagle Itinerary
Eight trips in our database use this exact sequence. Plumas Pines as the arrival-day warmup, Whitehawk on day two, Grizzly Ranch to close. Difficulty escalates across the trip — your group improves right when the hardest course arrives.
“Grizzly Ranch is not publicly bookable. You need a planner with an existing relationship to get your group on. We've been booking groups there for years.”
— Sean Schaeffer, GTHS Founder
The 4-Round Option: Add Graeagle Meadows
For groups who want a fourth round, add Graeagle Meadows Golf Course on Day 2 afternoon. It is flat and links-style — completely different from Whitehawk. Two rounds in one day works when you start Whitehawk at 8:30 am and Graeagle Meadows at 2:00 pm. We've run this for groups from 8 to 56 people.

The 5 Graeagle Courses
Grizzly Ranch Golf Club
Private, Golf Digest Top 100, Bob Cupp design. Plays through a high-Sierra valley at 4,800–5,400 feet. Generous fairways, fast greens, the Lake House restaurant on 18. Not publicly bookable — GTHS has direct access for groups.
Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club
Tom Weiskopf design cut through old-growth pines. Tighter than Grizzly Ranch with more elevation. Best for groups with single-digit handicappers. Opens May, closes October.
Plumas Pines Golf Resort
The on-site course at the townhome complex. Flat, approachable layout — ideal for arrival day. Full service pro shop on property.
Graeagle Meadows Golf Course
Flat, links-style, affordable. Great for high-handicappers or as a quick second round on a two-round day. Completely different feel from the pine-lined mountain layouts.
The Dragon (Nakoma)
Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired clubhouse, dramatic terrain. Works well for groups who want a signature experience on one day of the trip.
Lodging: Townhomes vs Resort
Plumas Pines townhomes give groups a private-home experience — full kitchen, multiple bathrooms, steps to the first tee. Every person gets their own bed. GTHS books as many units as needed under one contract.
River Pines Resort is the traditional hotel option — deluxe rooms with two queen beds, on-property dining, walkable to Graeagle. Better for groups who prefer a resort structure.
When to Book
Graeagle books fast in summer. June and July weekends sell out 3–4 months ahead, especially at Grizzly Ranch. September trips can sometimes be arranged 6–8 weeks out. One coordinator noted: “Booking early made this extra affordable” — their 4-round August package came in at $1,009/person by booking more than 3 months out.
