Lake Tahoe Golf Packages — America's Most Scenic Lake
Lake Tahoe golf packages from Golf the High Sierra start at $465 per golfer — stay & play combinations covering tee times, resort lodging, and logistics under one contract. Edgewood Tahoe's closing holes run directly along the shore of North America's largest alpine lake — the most photographed finishing stretch in American golf outside Augusta. Old Greenwood, a Jack Nicklaus design through old-growth Sierra pines, hosts the PGA TOUR Barracuda Championship and ranks in America's Top 100 Public Courses. Coyote Moon winds through granite boulders carved by glaciers. These are not interchangeable golf resort courses — each one is genuinely distinct.
A Lake Tahoe golf vacation spans two very different zones. South Lake Tahoe is anchored by Edgewood on the lake shore and major casino resorts — Harrah's, Harvey's, and the Hyatt Regency. Truckee and North Lake Tahoe sit 45 minutes north, where Old Greenwood, Coyote Moon, and Gray's Crossing cluster together in the Sierra pines. Many of the best Lake Tahoe golf packages split the trip — two nights South Shore for Edgewood, then north for the Truckee courses.
Golf the High Sierra handles the logistics that make Tahoe golf complicated — booking Edgewood months in advance, coordinating the drive between shores, matching lodging on the right side of the lake for your itinerary. One call, one contract, one deposit. We've been running Lake Tahoe golf packages since 2004.

Lake Tahoe Golf Package FAQ
The best Lake Tahoe golf packages combine Edgewood Tahoe — finishing holes directly on the lake — with Old Greenwood or Coyote Moon in Truckee, plus casino resort lodging on the South Shore. For North Lake Tahoe groups, Incline Village Championship and the Cottages at Old Greenwood make an excellent base. GTHS builds custom stay-and-play packages from $465 per golfer with one contract covering tee times, lodging, and logistics. Tell us your dates, group size, and budget and we'll build the right combination within 24 hours.
Lake Tahoe golf packages start from $465 per golfer for a 2-night, 2-round stay-and-play. Mid-tier packages featuring Edgewood Tahoe with resort lodging at Harrah's or Harvey's run $800–$1,200 per golfer for 3 nights and 3 rounds. Premium Tahoe Classic packages with Edgewood plus a second championship course start at $1,519 per golfer. Pricing depends on course selection, hotel tier, group size, and dates — larger groups almost always qualify for volume rates. A 20-person group routinely saves $60–$100 per person versus self-booking.
We partner with courses across both shores: South Shore — Edgewood Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Golf Course; North Shore and Truckee — Old Greenwood, Coyote Moon, Gray's Crossing, Northstar, Tahoe Donner; North Lake Tahoe — Incline Village Championship and Mountain courses. Mix and match based on your group's handicap range and budget. We'll suggest the right combination rather than defaulting to whatever's easiest to book. Every package is built around your group's preferences, not a fixed menu.
Yes — and you should book as early as possible. Edgewood Tahoe is the most in-demand course in the region and fills months ahead for July and August. We recommend requesting it 3–4 months out for peak summer dates, and 6–8 months out for groups larger than 20. We have a direct booking relationship with the course that gives us access when public tee times show nothing available online. If Edgewood is sold out for your dates, we'll let you know immediately and offer the best available alternative rather than leaving you with a gap in the itinerary.
June through October is the Lake Tahoe golf season. Late June and September are the sweet spots — excellent course conditions, shoulder-season pricing, and fewer crowds than the July–August peak. July and August are peak season: prices are highest and Edgewood books out fastest, but the weather is ideal. Most Tahoe courses open in May and close in late October or November depending on snowfall. Unlike Reno, Lake Tahoe courses are strictly seasonal — always confirm course availability before planning spring or fall dates.
Absolutely. South Shore casino resorts have full spas, lake beaches, dining, and casino entertainment. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe has direct private beach access on the lake. We can arrange lake cruises, kayaking, hiking, and spa packages for non-golfers through the same online registration portal your group uses — everyone books and pays their share once, no chasing. Non-golfer pricing is separate from the golf package rate so they only pay for what they actually need. It's common for annual golf trips to have 20–30% non-golfers along for the experience.
South Lake Tahoe is anchored by Edgewood Tahoe on the lake shore plus major casino resorts — Harrah's, Harvey's, and Margaritaville. It's the most popular base for Lake Tahoe golf packages because lodging and entertainment are concentrated in one area. North Lake Tahoe and Truckee offer a different style: Old Greenwood, Coyote Moon, Gray's Crossing, and Northstar are all within 20 minutes of each other in the pine forests above Truckee, with the Cottages at Old Greenwood providing on-course accommodations. Many groups split their stay — 2 nights South Shore for Edgewood, then move north for the Truckee courses.
For July and August, book 4–6 months in advance — peak season at Edgewood and the casino resorts fills fast and room block availability drops significantly after 90 days. For June and September, 2–3 months is usually sufficient. Corporate groups and events with 20+ players should add another 4–6 weeks to any estimate to allow time for the group registration portal setup and to secure a hotel room block. Off-peak dates (May, October) can be booked 4–6 weeks out without issue. The single biggest mistake groups make is underestimating Edgewood Tahoe demand.
Transportation coordination is available for groups that need it. The core package covers tee times and lodging — transportation between South Shore hotels and Truckee courses (a 45-minute drive) can be added as a charter van or shuttle service for larger groups. For groups staying in Truckee, Old Greenwood, Coyote Moon, and Gray's Crossing are all within 15 minutes. For groups based on the South Shore at Edgewood, Truckee courses are 45 minutes north on US-50 and CA-89. We'll flag any logistics gaps when building your quote.
