Four Courses.
Two of the World's Best.
Royal County Down is consistently ranked among the top five golf courses in the world. Royal Portrush Dunluce Links has hosted The Open Championship. These are not aspirational destinations — GTHS has a documented 28-person group trip to Northern Ireland with tee times at both courses confirmed. The trip also includes Ardglass Golf Links on the County Down coast and Portstewart Golf Club Strand Course on the north Antrim coast.
The base hotels — Slieve Donard in Newcastle and The Marcus Portrush (Tapestry Collection by Hilton) in Portrush — are the two closest quality hotels to Royal County Down and Royal Portrush respectively. Groups fly into Dublin Airport; GTHS coordinates private coach transfers throughout. Optional Dublin early-arrival adds rounds at The Island Golf Club and Brittas Bay Links.

Ireland Golf FAQ
What are the best golf courses in Ireland for a group trip?+
For a bucket list Northern Ireland golf trip, GTHS books Royal County Down Championship Links (Newcastle, County Down), Royal Portrush Golf Club — Dunluce Links (host of The Open Championship), Ardglass Golf Links, and Portstewart Golf Club Strand Course. Optional additions include Castlerock Golf Club Mussenden Course. For groups arriving via Dublin, early-arrival rounds at The Island Golf Club and Brittas Bay Links are available. All courses are confirmed — played by GTHS groups and documented in our trip archive.
How much does an Ireland golf trip cost?+
Ireland golf packages through GTHS start from $7,750 per golfer based on a real documented trip: 6 nights in Northern Ireland (Slieve Donard Hotel and Marcus Portrush Hotel), 4 primary rounds at Royal County Down, Ardglass, Royal Portrush, and Portstewart, for a group of 28. An optional 3-night early arrival in Dublin adds The Island and Brittas Bay rounds with lodging at Brooks Hotel. Pricing depends on group size, course selection, and travel dates. Request a quote for your specific group.
Where do groups stay on an Ireland golf trip?+
GTHS uses two primary Northern Ireland lodging partners: Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle, County Down — on the shores of Dundrum Bay with the Mourne Mountains behind it, steps from Royal County Down — and The Marcus Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in Portrush, County Antrim, walking distance from Royal Portrush. For Dublin early-arrival groups, GTHS uses Brooks Hotel in the city centre. All lodging is coordinated under one GTHS contract.
When is the best time to play golf in Ireland?+
May through September is the prime Ireland golf season. June and July have the longest daylight — up to 17 hours in Northern Ireland. August is peak season; GTHS has run documented group trips in August. May and September offer good conditions with slightly lower course and lodging rates. Irish weather is variable year-round; waterproofs are essential. Most courses on the GTHS Ireland itinerary are open year-round.
Does the Ireland package include flights?+
No. Ireland golf packages include all in-country logistics — tee times, lodging, and private coach transfers between hotels and courses — but not international flights. Groups typically fly into Dublin Airport. The 2027 GTHS Ireland trip includes coach transfer from Dublin Airport to Newcastle for the Northern Ireland leg, and return transfer to Dublin Airport at the end. GTHS coordinates everything from airport arrival.
Can we add Castlerock Golf Club or other optional rounds?+
Yes. The GTHS Ireland itinerary includes an optional Day 7 round at Castlerock Golf Club Mussenden Course ($405 per person) and an optional Old Bushmills Distillery tour. Groups can add or drop optional activities. The early-arrival Dublin option (The Island Golf Club and Brittas Bay Links) is also available for groups arriving 3 days early. All options are coordinated under one contract — no separate bookings needed.
