I went to Lake Tahoe to celebrate my birthday. Most things didn’t go as planned during my trip (everything that could... have gone wrong did) but the manager and team at Friday’s Station went above and beyond to take care of me. The manager, Frank, worked us in for a dinner reservation on my birthday. When we arrived he greeted me by name, introduced me to our waiter, and made sure to send out a birthday dessert to our table. Frank and his team were such a delight during this trip and helped make my birthday special. Thank you all!read more

After being seated we waited for 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Approx 45 minutes later drinks arrived... and no mention was made of taking order for food. We came specifically for the Prime Rib and by the time the waiter finally took our order we were informed they were out of Prime Rib for the evening. If he had not been chatting continuously with the table across from us I think he might have heard our discussing our dinner preferences. Knowing they were running low on a popular entrée I think he might have informed us or queried his guests if they were contemplating something special. (The kitchen should always alert wait staff to a potential shortage of a popular dish). many wife’s post said he was the best waiter but she meant to say he definitely was not great. Our dinners were mediocre at best and when we asked if we could substitute the mashed potato for a baked he’d was quick to indicate “of course for an additional $8)! We also brought our own special wine and for a $35 corkage (the highest I have ever paid) we ended up pouring it ourselves because he was preoccupied with chatting up the next table. This was always one of our “go to” restaurants; but, has now been eliminated from our list. It seems to have gone down hill dramatically! Not recommended!read more

They start by greeting you with a special that is not on the menu then bring you a great amount of sour dough and rye... bread. It was not warm but we love bread so can't complain. We both got ceasar salads but thought the dressing was very light nothing to exciting and lettuce was still wet and perhaps that is why the dressing did not stick. Ordered cocktails instead of wine and they were very delicious and strong 😋 I tried the Smokey paloma and my boyfriend had the Manhattan they were both great.! 👏 For the main dish I got the filet mignon it was seasond great but even better... cooked to perfection. I asked for medium rare and they nailed it! My boyfriend got the aged new york steak he couldn't decide on which was better, but they were both really good. We decided to also order the truffle mac n cheese, no excitment about it also the truffle was apparentbut not the taste of cheese. We ended the meal with dessert and ordered the creme brulee. It had an excellent and decadent vanilla bean flavor and crispy top that was so satisfying. Overall the meats, cocktails and service was the highlight of the night.read more
