Our Point Of View

“There is a good reason why Dayton Valley has played host to the first stage of  qualifying for the PGA Tour since 1995.   Its links style offers plenty of challenge that even the pros struggle to negotiate.  Water is a primary feature and an unwelcomed hazard on nearly half the holes of this Arnold Palmer-designed, high desert masterpiece.  The undulations on the course’s big greens make successful execution of the flat stick a primary task of the day.  The wind can be a friend or foe on many days as it can shorten the lengthy, downwind par 5s, yet wreak havoc on the short par 3s across or into the wind.  Although Dayton is a bit of a drive from the Reno hotels and casinos, it’s worth the effort to get there.  It’s very well manicured and the surrounding views will surely impress.”

The Carson Valley Inn Casino, located in Minden, is a 40 minute drive from Dayton Valley Golf Club and a great place to base your golf outing from. The town of Minden and the surrounding area is unique and offers a throwback feel to the wild west days of silver mining.
Be sure to try JT Baseque Bar and Dining Room in Minden for basque style family dining! Go easy on the Picon Punches though! One too many might have you staggering out of the place!
If you stay in Reno, you can head back after your round at Dayton Valley via Hwy. 341 and stop in historic Virginia City, once the most important city of industry in all the United States. Take a stroll around the wood-plank sidewalks and get a feel for what life was like during the 19th-century mining boom.

We play at one of the most beautiful golf courses. We love hanging out there too. The 101 bar and grill has the best... food and service. My husband and I, if not playing golf we will ride our bikes and end up for a lunch and beer at 101 Bar and Grill. Try it!read more
