Toiyabe Golf Club is a semi-private golf club nestled in the foothills of the Toiyabe National Forest and the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Washoe Valley, Nevada. The club’s signature 18-hole Robert Muir Graves-designed course is a natural blend of links-style and Alpine golf that will challenge low handicap players, as well as golfers of all abilities. “This Robert Muir Graves design is old school good. Set at the base of the mountains, directly below Lake Tahoe, you’ll get diversity on every hole. The entire course is surrounded by some of the most beautiful homes in the region, it’s picturesque from every angle. The front 9 has plenty of water and distance to challenge every golfer, and the back nine incorporates some challenging elevation change and has several holes up in the pines. Originally built as a private country club, the facility spared no expense in providing comfort, and the restaurant is renown across the region as having a great menu.
The course is located half way between Reno and Carson City, and with the new Freeway exchange, you can make it there in 20 minutes from South Reno.”

The “HACK”
Hole No. 9 is one of the longest Par 5s in northern Nevada at 606 yards from the back tee. If the wind is blowing, expect three full shots to reach the green. Here’s some insight though, if it’s blowing at Toiyabe, it’s blowing throughout the region.

Course great. Great bar and snack bar. They get a real pushy on pace of play. We played in 4 hrs 40 min. With a couple... stops at the bathroom and cart lady. We were group of 20 the Marshall's started asking us to skip holes so they could get more golfers on course. They put a scramble tournament ahead of us and wanted us to keep up with them. They were trying to get more golfers out for the day. Definitely won't be playing there again.... we were on the schedule to play again in October with a group of 32 we will find some place else to play. So unless you can play at a 4 hr pace don't waste your time going here.read more

Beautiful course in a gated community, 20 minutes south of Reno. Excellent conditions, from tee to green. Some fairways... had a links type feel. Greens were in awesome shape and rolling fast...also challenging, as there seemed to be slope and break in play on any putt farther than a tap-in. Sure there are some houses around, but not a lot and they fit in well with the views...its not like the fairways were lined with houses by any means. The guys in the pro shop were very nice and helpful. Toiyabi could be a little tricky to navigate for 1st timers, as it doubles-back a bit and there is no course layout on the scorecard. But there is an app to download and help navigate. Great course, I would play it again if I were in the area.read more
